Job Summary: A self-motivated Field Technical Support Engineer to be responsible for all aspects of technical support for Marine Global Operations Systems. Delivering on-site hardware and application support service to Marine Geophysical (Acquisition & Information and Communications) Systems. You will install, configure and repair server and workstation systems, data storage solutions, networks and peripherals, multi-vessel communications systems, and business application support. You will also run on-site and remote diagnostics, and support field installations which are working in a 24/7 environment across the world. Qualifications (in one or more of the following): Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences Technical degree/HNC in electronics/electrical engineering Commensurate practical experience Knowledge or qualifications relating to IBM, SUN, DELL,CISCO, UNIX, WINDOWS server, and standard PC applications desired Position Responsibilities: Respond and follow up (internal) customer inquiries related to the support of failed systems Telephone and helpdesk support (remote field support) Work with engineering and sustaining software teams to test, support and field new and established systems Position Requirements: Good knowledge of English (the working language is English) Sound knowledge of computer-based data acquisition systems Knowledge of design and functioning of mechanical and electronic equipment Technical knowledge of PC, Server, workstation, data storage and networking systems UNIX/ LINUX experience or training.
